Work or chores benefiting others without pay unless:
- Assisted Independence, LLC. will obtain a certificate from the United States Department of Labor authorizing the employment of workers with a disability at special minimum wage rates if paying sub-minimum wage
- Assisted Independence, LLC. will not pay an employee less than minimum wage, negating the need for certification from the United States Department of Labor authorizing the employment of workers with a disability at special minimum wage rates
- The supports are being performed by an individual in the individual’s own residence as a normal and customary part of housekeeping and maintenance duties
- An individual’s desire to perform volunteer work in the community.
